Inga Moore was born in England but moved with her family to Australia in 1952. In 1981 she returned to England and devoted her time to illustrating picture books. Six-dinner Sid (Simon and Schuster) was awarded the Smarties Award (0-5 years category) in 1990, as well as a NCTE Notable Children’s Books in the Language Arts Selection.
Amongst the titles published by Walker Books are such classics as The Book of Beasts, The Reluctant Dragon and the highly praised version of Kenneth Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows where the artist provides beautiful images of the English countryside, as well as the recent Secret Garden which we will the subject of a single artist exhibition at The Illustration Cupboard. Inga Moore continues to work as a full-time illustrator and lives in Gloucestershire.
